He obtained Bachelor of Science degree from Karnataka University, Dharwad, discipline in Chemistry, Botany, Zoology (CBZ) in the year 2002. Later, he got Master's degree in Biotechnology at Bangalore University JB campus, Bengaluru in the year 2004.
After that he was working as a Research Assistant at the department of Microbiology & Biotechnology, BUB. In the year 2004 he received Brain Korea21 fellowship to pursue his doctoral degree under the guidance of Professor Han Dae Yun from Gyeongsang National University, South Korea. He received his Doctoral degree in the year 2010.
Then moved to Chung-Ang University to pursue his Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) under the guidance of Professor Che Ok Jeon, there he received a Research scholarship under Young Investigator Research Program of Chun-Ang University, South Korea.
In the year 2013 he came back to India and joined as an Assistant Professor in the department of biotechnology, Garden City College, Bengaluru.
After working for two and half year he later joined a start-up company (2016) in Bengaluru, where they were tackling to find solution for air pollution. The main aim was to develop a bio-membrane to purify air.
At present he is working as Assistant Professor at Research Institute of Biomedical Sciences. He has 31 international peer reviewed publications to his credit.

Academic experience: Worked as Assistant Professor at Garden City College of Science and Management Studies, Bangalore, India (September 2013 - December 2015)
During doctoral studies worked on several research topics related to "Environmental Biotechnology" such as gene isolation from bacteria, fungi, cloning, expression, and vector construction for plant & mushroom transformation. Besides, used many microscopic techniques like, confocal, fluorescence, AFM, FTIR etc., for clay-mineral-protein characterization.
Also, worked on, construction of rumen 16S rDNA library, metagenome study from oyster dumps, soil samples, and endophytic bacteria. His thesis work was on understanding protein-clay mineral binding. During his PDF he worked on analysis of complete bacterial genome (NGS pyrosequencing) and comparative genomics.
Further, worked on Microbial Taxonomy (bacteria). During his PhD & PDF has used many bioinformatics tools for DNA & protein analysis such as DNAman, vectorNTI, etc, and protein analysis tools such as Pymol etc., Also used several web-based & standalone genomics tools, workbench (CLC genomics, NCBI, IMG etc,) and DNA protein databases.
He knows basic Biophython programing and R programing software and jamovi Statistical tools.
As an Assistant Professor he taught Bachelor & Master's students and guided them to complete several in-house and a few funded projects.
During his two years of work experience at SDM Research Institute for Biomedical Sciences, Dharwad, his basic research areas of interest are "millet-gut-microbiome" and "millet-peptide-health". He has been interacting with a few clinicians and is working to understand diseases like "Aplastic Anemia" and "upper gut cancer".
