| Cancer glycobiology involved in a research project in order to determine the glycosylation status of the tumour cells and their role in the progression of cancer as well as the microenvironment composed of the immune cells, analysis of selected gene expression levels of glycogenes in tissue and immune cells of the oral cancer subjects, and comparison with the controls. |
| More research is being planned to determine how glycan-related genes (glycogenes) dysregulation affects cancer in terms of cell signalling, communication, tumour cell dissociation and invasion, interactions with the cell matrix, tumour angiogenesis, immune modulation, and metastasis formation, thereby applying this research outcome to develop targeted immunotherapies to control cancer growth and metastasis |
